Academic writing is the formal, clear, precise, focused, structured, and analytical way of writing which draws evidence and reaches a conclusion. It covers the issues related to building academic vocabulary. Moreover, it refers to a style of expression that researchers use to define the intellectual boundaries of their disciplines. The objectives of this course are to make the students acquire and master their academic writing skills. It will also enable the students to attain critical reading skills to help them develop as a self-critical writer. Furthermore, the course will also enhance the students’ understanding of ethical considerations in writing academic assignments and topics including citation, plagiarism, formatting, and referencing the sources as well as the technical aspects involved in referencing.

  • It will enable learners to learn practical tools and effective strategies for increasing their academic vocabulary.

Lecture Days: Monday and Thursday

Lecture Timings: 12:30 to 02:00 p.m. and 3:30 to 05:00 p.m.

Assessment:

For evaluation purposes, the students will be assigned with assignments so that their learning can be scored accordingly.

          Attendance - 05 marks

          Assignments - 05marks

          Class participation - 05 marks

          Presentation - 05 marks

  • Mid Term Exam - 30marks
  • Final Term Exam - 50marks
