This course introduces the Security of data and networks. It helps students to secure the computers and networks from internal and external attacks by applying multiple layers of defense.

 At the end of the course the students will be able to:

  • Understand the security problems in LANs and WANs
  • Understand how all aspects of a computer system contribute to security.
  • Develop an understanding of the theoretical and conceptual aspects that are needed to build secure systems.
  • Develop ability to evaluate and compare various systems or mechanisms with respect to their security
