This course is designed for graduate students wanting to learn biochemistry that is characteristic of plants. The course is taught in two 60-minute lectures  and one 120-minute practical lecture per week with two exams, midterm and final. Grading is based on the exams, oral presentation and plant biochemistry mini-review. 

The course will consider the chemical constituents of plants, their synthesis, their contribution to key metabolic processes and specfically the regulation of their metabolism. Included will be discussions of  carbohydrates, lipids, nuccleic acid and protein metabolism,alkaloids and general secondary compound .
