Law of Business Organizations-I (Course Code: ULAW-6130)

DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES:

The main objective of this course is to introduce the students to the partnership Act 1932, and the negotiable instruments Act 1881. In this present advanced world, the importance of both Acts cannot be undermined. The formal deals with the definition and clauses of partnership. It deals with the rights and liabilities of partners, ways of dissolution of the firm, and winding up with consequences thereof. The lather deals with the negotiable instruments known as a promissory note, bill of exchange, and cheque and their importance in daily mercantile life. With the rigorous study of the course, the students are made quite friendly with the complete subject

INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES: 

Upon successful completion of Business Law I the student will be able to:
 

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the Legal Environment of Business.
  2. Apply basic legal knowledge to business transactions.
  3. Communicate effectively using standard business and legal terminology.
  4. Relation of Partnership act, 1932 to Contract Act, 1872.
  5. The Nature and Definition of Partnership.
  6. Creation of Partnership and necessary elements.
  7. Presentment of Instruments.
  8. Presumptions as to negotiable instruments.
