This course is graduate level course of theories and practical of Agronomy. This course aims to elaborate the comprehensive study of food security issues which are being faced by the developing world and the consequences regarding its distribution throughout the world. It also familiarizes about the history of major crops in Pakistan and their advanced husbandry in field with special emphasis on critical production factors. The course explicitly relates practically improved sowing methods, raising and transplanting of rice nursery, delinting of cotton seed by conventional and modern techniques, its impact on seed germination and seedling establishment, techniques of maintaining optimum plant population under field conditions, Plant characteristics and phonological development of major crops, introduction to sugar industry and demonstration of methods used for estimating crop yields for major crops
