DESCRIPTION
This course will cover the structure of libraries, national, academic, public, special; library resources/ services, use of ICTs in libraries; challenges faced by libraries and librarians, legislation, standards, policies, service structure etc.
OBJECTIVES
- To introduce students with basics of librarianship in Pakistan
- To develop a broad-based understanding of the major aspects of librarianship in Pakistan

Presentation and written assignment are compulsory for all students.

The allocation of (100) marks are given below;

RULES AND REGULATIONS
- The class will be conducted in a lecture, discussion environment, where the class instructor will lead and students will be encouraged to participate and ask questions at the end of each lecture.
- Most of the class lectures will depend on articles and study guide material.
- The students will be asked and expect to present different written articles related to the subject.
- No talking while the teacher is talking.
- Disrespect will not be tolerated. You will be kicked out of class.
- No instant messaging, use of social Apps in class or you will lose cell phone privileges.
- You must be on time for class. Being late will result in the documentation and after three times you will lose points off your grade. Plus, you will have to discuss/justify why you were late?
- Submit your assignments on time. No excuse will be accepted.
- Try to speak English as much as possible and improve your English writing skills as well.
- Mistakes using English are wonderful.
