Course Description and Learning Outcomes:           

This course is designed to discuss various concepts of economic theory and issues related to those concepts. The key Microeconomics and Macroeconomics concepts taught to the students will be discussed in detail with reference to techniques applicable as tools for rational economic decision-making within the micro framework and macro level. The course aims to demonstrate the relevance and usefulness of economic theory to real world business situations and policy making by the governments. As far as microeconomic concepts are concerned emphasis is placed on the market analysis, consumer theory and optimal decisions making within the firm and the strategic relationship with other business. In case of macroeconomic concepts issues in national income accounting, role of government in economy, fiscal and monetary policies etc will be discussed. Using microeconomics and macroeconomic theory, the students will be able to understand the issues in concepts of demand and supply, the price determination in the market, firm behavior and the structure of the markets. National Income Accounting, Economic Growth, Fiscal and Monetary policies etc.
