Course Description

This course is designed to facilitate the student's creative faculties and abilities. Instruction in literary techniques will direct the student's writing. In addition to working within literary conventions to produce manuscripts, students will be exposed to exemplary texts by selected authors. Students will learn to critique their own work and the work of others by participating in writing workshops. Students will be introduced to markets for creative writing and will be encouraged to submit some work for publication.

The course offers the students:

  • To enhance reading and understanding of English Literature. 
  • To enhance the productive (speaking and writing) and receptive skills (listening and reading) of the students
  • To encourage students to conduct original research on detailed analysis of the implications of English as an international language

At the end of this course students should be able 

  • To demonstrate the critical understanding of the concepts of the all texts studied in the class
  • To analyse and critically discuss some of the main characteristics of the given texts
  • To demonstrate the ability to carry out investigative study on English Language and Literature

Mid exam: 30

Final exam: 50

• 75% Attendance will me must.

• Cell Phones should be silent during class.

• Students will bring their laptops in computer lab.
