Introduction to the course
This course is specifically intended to make the students of BS Program to understand the basic structure of English language. It is proposed to make learners skillful in various forms of language, including literary and functional one. The content is amalgamation of various genres of literature like essays, poems, short stories and novels. The underlying purpose to implement this course is to make students able to communicate perfectly by using the accurate grammatical structure and form of language. It also consists certain letter writing and application formats to enable students to write effectively in their job seeking process in future.

Course Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course the students will be able to:
- Analyze and evaluate the elements of fiction in short strories and in the novel including plot, dynamic character, setting, dramatic irony, situational irony, exposition, fore shadowing, flash back and theme in critical essays.
- Analyze and evaluate the elements of drama including characterization, theme, resolution, rising and falling actions.
- Analyze, evaluate and appriciate poetry.
