They select a FYP in consultation with the Faculty, form a Group (of 2 or 3 persons, maximum 4 in exceptional cases) and submit the Group names and the FYP title with one paragraph description of the project till the end of first week of the semester to the FYP Coordinator.
  3. The Group studies about the FYP and makes a three page (maximum) FYP proposal which also includes a brief introduction of the FYP and brief details mentioning the basic requirements and scope of the FYP according to the requirements of the FYP and is decided by the Supervisor and the Group. It will also include a high level plan with a schedule for deliverables. The FYP proposals are submitted to the FYP Coordinator at the end of second week. The FYP Coordinator compiles them and mantains the record for final evaluation.
  4. The Capstone Coordinator approves the FYP proposal and may suggest amendments. It also appoints an Supervisor for each FYP, who will guide the group throughout the FYP. No change in FYP, Supervisor or Examiner is allowed without the consent of the Capstone Committee after this step. The approved proposals are graded by the respective FYP Coordinators in consultation.
  5. If the proposal is not approved, the Group selects a new FYP and repeats step number 3 within next two weeks. The Group continues with the FYP only if the FYP Coordinator through consensus approves the new FYP proposal. The Group submits the FYP Plan till the end of 4th week.
  6. Mid Semester Evaluation is held in the 9 th week. The students prepare an A2 size poster about their FYP.
  7. The Group submits the first semester report and delivers a presentation in December. The report also includes the work to be done in the next semester and its schedule. The format of the report is according to the requirements of the FYP and is decided by the Supervisor and the Group. The report and the presentation will be graded by the FYP Coordinator.

Process (Software FYP-2):

  1. Those Students who have passed the Software FYP-1 registers for the second software FYP course (3 credit hours only) and continues with their allotted FYP.
  2. Mid Semester Evaluation is held in March. The Group gives a demonstration of its FYP. The demo is graded by the Capstone Coordinator.
  3. The final evaluation and presentation is in June. A comprehensive but tentative FYP report is submitted before the presentation.
