The sociology of health and medicine studies the interaction between society and health. In particular, sociologists examine how social life impacts morbidity and mortality rates and how morbidity and mortality rates impact society. Sociological factors can help to explain why these discrepancies exist.
After completion of this , students will be able to assess critically the usefulness of social theory in published research that investigates a health problem using both quantitative and qualitative analytic approaches. The course covers wide variety of health issues like patient-physian relationship, alternative health systems and modern health systems
